MICHAEL BIEHL PARK

Michael Biehl Park

Michael Biehl Park, located at 100 West Tampa Avenue in Venice, Florida, is part of the Venice Island Gateway Project. The park was created after the acquisition of .29 acres of land by Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast in August of 2004, made possible through a very generous donation by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice. Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast created a unique private public partnership with The Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice as well as the City of Venice in this project. Michael Biehl Park is Venice’s newest gathering spot for community activities and a gateway to historic downtown Venice and the Venetian Waterway Park.

The park includes landscaping with native vegetation, a water fountain and a mural by local artist BJ Carson. The centerpiece of the park is a granite etching of John Nolen’s original plan for the city.
